Ri Son Gwon, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) sent a message of congratulations to Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, on August 15, on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of Korea’s liberation.
The message said that the tradition of DPRK-Russia friendship, which was forged in the hard-fought struggle against the common enemy and has since steadily developed, has been carried forward generation after generation, along with the memory of heroism and self-sacrificing spirit displayed by officers and men of the Red Army in the battles to liberate Korea.
It expressed the belief that the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries developing on good terms with each passing day would grow stronger in the spirit of the agreement reached at the DPRK-Russia summit in Vladivostok in April, 2019.
