During the meeting, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to consolidate the Strategic Third Neighbor Partnership between Mongolia and the United States, expanding cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, especially enriching economic ties. The two sides also discussed the progress of the works being implemented following Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene’s official visit to the United States in August 2023, including launching nonstop passenger flights between the two countries, improving English language education in Mongolia, and supporting private sector collaboration in space.Dr. Kurt M. Campbell, Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Oyun-Erdene Luvsannamsrai, Prime Minister of Mongolia, on March 22, 2024, as part of his visit to Mongolia.Deputy Secretary Campbell underscored that the United States is proud to be Mongolia’s “third neighbor” and is committed to advancing the level of partnership between the two countries built on shared democratic values that uphold human rights and freedom, further broadening cooperation in more areas, increasing the exchange and deepening the enduring friendship between the American and Mongolian people.Prime Minister Oyun-Erdene highlighted that the United States is Mongolia’s important “third neighbor” and strategic partner, showing steadfast support for Mongolia’s transition to democracy and a market economy.
