THE SEVENTH MEETING OF THE MONGOLIAN-BELARUSIAN INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION ON TRADE, ECONOMIC, SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL COOPERATION TOOK PLACE IN MINSK – Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia

On 24th of January, 2024, the day of the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Belarusia, the 7th Meeting of the Mongolian-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Copperation was held in Minsk, Belarusia.The fourth session of the Mongolian-Belarusian Commission on Cooperation in the Field of Science and Technology was also held on 23rd January, 2024. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ganbold Ganbayar, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Mongolia and Ms. Tatyana Stolyarova, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus.The meeting was chaired by Mr. Bolorchuluun Khayangaa, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia, leading a group of a total of 32 representatives including  Mr. Ganbayar Ganbold, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, the National Emergency Management Agency, Erdenet Mining Corporation, and the private sector and his counterpart Mr. Rogozhnik Alexander Nikolaevich, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus.The sides exchanged information on the current bilateral political and economic relations and cooperation and discussed possibilities of expanding and strengthening cooperation in the fields of education, science, technology, agriculture, mining, road transport, infrastructure, and public safety. For instance the sides agreed to work together towards the implementation of the “One Billion Trees” national campaign initiated by the President of Mongolia, to combat climate change, land degradation, desertification, and yellow dust storms by exchanging forestry experts to conductcapacity building trainings and joint research programs on cultivating adaptable trees and bushes  to Mongolan soil and climate.On the sidelines of the Intergovernmental Commission, the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Bartosh Sergei Ivanovich, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus. During the meeting, the Minutes of the third meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Working Group, and the Agreement on Cooperation in the field of purebred livestock between “Agricultural Corporation”, Mongolian state-owned company and “Belplemzhivobyedinenie”, Belarusian state association on livestock breeding were signed.
