AMBASSADOR ENKHBOLD VORSHILOV, PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF MONGOLIA TO THE UN, EXPRESSED MONGOLIA’S POSITION AT THE SIXTY-FIRST SESSION OF THE UN COMMITTEE ON SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

He informed the Commission on the Government strategy, priorities and policy reform to increase employment and enhance social protection during COVID and beyond.Ambassador Enkhbold Vorshilov, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the UN, made a statement at the general discussions held on 10 February 2023 on Mongolia’s government policy to improve socio-economic situation through the labor market support.In conclusion, he stressed the importance of the fruitful cooperation with the International Labour Organization within the “Decent Work program’ on the right to work, employment and social protection, which is crucial in eliminating inequalities and creating conditions for accessible work leaving no one behind.Ambassador V.Enkhbold also informed on the efforts the Government is undertaking to improve the legal environment with a view to implement the New Revival Policy, adopt the new Labor Code, undertake the social insurance system reform, tailor the social welfare service, create jobs and ensure population development.The delegation of Mongolia is taking part in the sixty-first session of the Committee on Social development (CSocD61) from 6 to 15 February, 2023.
