“ENCHANTING WANDERLUST” – MONGOLIAN CULTURAL NIGHT HELD IN FRANKFURT – Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia

“Enchanting Wanderlust” a cultural soirée was held on February 22, 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany. The event was organized by Cultural Envoy Mrs. Gerelee in cooperation with the Embassy of Mongolia per marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Germany and promoting “Years to visit Mongolia” campaign as series of events aimed at promoting Mongolia in Germany.A highlight of the evening was the performance featuring Altai harp, meticulously restored in Germany as a testament to the collaboration between Mongolian and German archaeologists. Musician Mrs. Munkh-Erdene, renowned as the queen of the harp, mesmerized the audience with her rendition of melody, evoking the spirit of the nomads. Nearly 1400 years old Altai Harp, found from a cave tomb of Jargalant Khairkhan Mountain, Mankhan Sum, Khovd Province, was recognized in 2014 as a symbol of cultural exchange between Mongolia and Germany.In addition to the cultural showcase, representatives from Mongolian enterprises in Germany, including “Younique catering by Muko,” “Edel Ziege Cashmere,” Ujin’s felt crafting brand, and MIAT SOE, seized the opportunity to introduce their products and services. Their participation underscored the significance of GO MonGOlia. Always. Moving narrative, which promotes the “Years to visit Mongolia” campaign.The event commenced with an inaugural address by Ambassador B. Mandakhbileg, setting the stage for an enchanting fusion of Mongolian folk art with contemporary rhythms. Dr. Hendrik Rohland, esteemed archaeologist and leader of the Orkhon expedition offered illuminating insights into Mongolia’s rich heritage through their presentation, “Mongolia through the eyes of an archaeologist and a traveler.”
