H.E. Ms. Emine Dzhaparova, Ukraine’s’s first deputy minister of foreign affairs, traveled to New Delhi between April 10 and 12, 2023. Her first official trip to India was this one.
Shri Sanjay Verma, Secretary( West), MEA, and Ms. Dzhaparova had bilateral discussions during the visit. Economic, defense, humanitarian aid, and international issues of shared interest were among the areas on the bilateral agenda. She informed Secretary( West) of the current state of affairs in Ukraine. On a mutually convenient date, the two sides decided to hold the following round of foreign office consultations in Kyiv.
The Deputy FM stated that Ukraine will permit foreign medical students to take the Unified State Qualification Exam in their home country in regards to Indian medical school students.
Additionally, the Ukrainian Deputy FM suggested that Indian businesses might have a chance to rebuild Ukraine’s’s infrastructure. India has provided medications, medical supplies, and would provide school buses, according to Secretary( West). to Ukraine
Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, the minister of state for foreign affairs and culture, was also contacted by Ms. Dzhaparova. She also gave Prime Minister Modi a letter from President Zelenskyy, which was addressed to him, in addition to engaging in conversation about numerous bilateral and international issues of shared interest. She also shared the Ukrainian request for more humanitarian supplies, such as medications and medical supplies. The next Inter-Governmental Commission between the two nations would take place in India on a date that was convenient for both parties.
In addition to speaking at the Indian Council of World Affairs, Ms. Dzhaparova visited the Manohar Parrikar-Institute of Defence Studies.
During her visit, Ms. Dzhaparova emphasized Ukraine’s’s desire to forge closer ties with India. The two nations’ cooperation would be facilitated by Ms. Dzhaparova’s’s trip to India.
