Honourable Hugh Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, today, met with His Excellency Juan Manuel Pino Vasquez, Ambassador of Chile to Guyana, and Executive Director of the Chilean Development Cooperation Agency, Mr. Cristián Jara Brito.
During the meeting, Minister Todd, Ambassador Vasquez, and Mr. Brito discussed several areas of developmental cooperation, with emphasis on exchanges in the sectors of agriculture, mining, and education.
Minister Todd highlighted that agricultural development remains a primary focus of the Government of Guyana and alluded to the leading role the country has assumed at the regional level towards advancing the food production and food security agenda.
The two sides agreed to continued dialogue, to materialize initiatives for the benefit of the citizens of Guyana and Chile.
