The Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, today met with His Excellency Abdelkader Hadjazi, Non-Resident Ambassador-designate Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of Algeria to the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.
Minister Todd also provided an update on Guyana’s leadership of the CARICOM Food Systems Agenda towards reducing the regional food import bill to 25% by the year 2025.

Guyana and Algeria established bilateral relations on September 20, 1976.
Minister Todd and the Ambassador-designate discussed mutual areas of cooperation between the two countries including oil and gas, agriculture, technology and training.
