Webinar for the promotion of business between Denmark and Cuba.

Copenhagen, April 15. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, to the Kingdom of Denmark, Roger López García, opened the “Webinar”, on business opportunities in the Industrial and Agri-food sectors, from the Headquarters of the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI), in this capital, when the celebration of the 110th Anniversary of the relations between the two countries is near.

In the meeting, the Cuban representative referred to different aspects of bilateral relations, the political situation, and the nation’s strategy inspired by its economic model, and the island’s perspectives at the present stage, despite the cruel economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States. In turn, he highlighted the political stability that characterizes the Greater Antilles, and the conditions offered by the new Portfolio of Opportunities, to facilitate foreign capital investment.

The Seminar, in connection with the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, was chaired by the Vice President, Rubén Ramos Arrieta, and the Director of International Relations, Celia Labora Rodríguez, along with other officials; it brought together businessmen from the Chemical Industry Business Group (GEIQ), GAG Agricultural Business Group, Coral Marítima S.A., and UEB Cometal Elevadores.

Organized by the Cuban Embassy, the Seminar fostered exchanges with 17 Danish companies from sectors such as: food, industry, energy, ports, among others. A round of questions and answers allowed us to delve into the different topics presented, demonstrating the interest of the Cuban market for Danish investors.

For his part, the Director of Trade and International Development, of the (DI), in his introduction, highlighted the meaning of the meeting, the desire to lead the space to the benefit of commercial economic ties, and pointed out the conditions in which it has Cuba had to cope after the tightening of the blockade during the Trump Administration. The Commercial Counselor of this institution, Emil Stub, also participated in the conference.

The (DI) is Denmark’s largest business organization and employers’ organization. DI’s members are 18,000 private companies in the manufacturing and service industries, from practically all subsectors.
