GREETING MESSAGE FOR THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDATION OF THE CAMBODIAN PEOPLE’S PARTY
To The Central Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party
Dear friends:
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Cambodian People’s Party, please receive our warmest congratulations.
The Cambodian People’s Party has successfully guided the destiny of that nation, succeeding in maintaining peace, leading the process of national reconciliation and leading with certainty the reconstruction and development of the country.
Cuba and Cambodia highly value the defense of national sovereignty and independence, not only because of the countless lives and sacrifices that its conquest has cost; but because it defines our right to self-determination. On the international scene, we share common positions, particularly within the framework of the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, of which both our historical leader Fidel Castro Ruz, and the Cambodian King Father, Norodom Sihanouk, were founders.
During these six decades of mutual friendship and solidarity, both parties have worked to consolidate bilateral relations, which we intend to continue consolidating for the benefit of our peoples.
We express our appreciation for Cambodia’s support in the fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba.
The Communist Party of Cuba wishes you every success in the battles for the well-being and future development of that nation.
