The book José Martí y “the Greek” is published in Athens

Athens, October 26. The counselor of the Cuban Embassy in Greece, José Oriol Marrero Martinez, has just published an important book of which he is the author of the text and the photos that are in the book. About this he wrote on his Facebook:
“José Martí and “the Greek” has just been published in Athens: it carries a message of love and peace between peoples, reveals two-way bridges that José Martí, as humanist as a National Hero, knew how to build from the 19th-century Antillean Caribbean to the continental Hellenic Aegean and insular; towards the remote past, towards the antiquity, culture, history and myths of a great civilization, from an Our-American perspective, capturing that universal vigor with which the national resistance and the struggle for the independence of every empire would also push from Thermopylae or Missolonghi the fight for the independence of Cuba, without for this reason transposing the Olympic green of the olive trees, to the unmistakable insurgent green of the savannah and the palm grove. The edition has been in charge of the prestigious Athenian publishing house TOPOS, a dream that will bring to the brother Hellenic people, in their language, the reality of Marti’s love for Greece and “the Greek”, whose ground and meaning the Apostle could not see personally. , but whose doors are opened today thanks to TOPOS, just in the year of the 200th anniversary of Hellenic independence, because Martí’s gaze always accompanies, because Martí’s sharp gaze is timeless.
