The Greek-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity of Thessaloniki denounces the new machinations against Cuba in the European Parliament. Using “human rights” as a pretext, a group of eurodeputies attempts tries, once more, to slander and defame Cuba by organizing a “discussion” in the Plenary of the Europarliament.
We have seen this play before. With excessive hypocrisy and audacity, the European Union and its institutions intervene in the internal affairs of Cuba having a multiple targeting: To defame the Cuban Revolution and the achievements of socialism, to put obstacles to the socialist construction and to facilitate the activity of small counterrevolutionary mechanisms – controlled and sponsored by the USA – in the island. At the same time, they are trying to create favorable conditions for the penetration of european monopolies in Cuba.
Towards this direction they utilize as a “Trojan Horse” the notorious “Common Position” of the EU towards Cuba, as well as the EU-Cuba Agreement for the Political Dialogue and Cooperation.
The colossal hypocrisy of all those who supposedly care about “human rights” in Cuba cannot be hidden. They are the same people who do not say a single “word” for the blatant violation of human rights for 60 years by the genocidal economic, trade and financial blockade impossed by the U.S on the island of the Revolution. They are the same people who support and participate in the murderous imperialist interventions of USA-NATO-EU in the Middle East and elsewhere, always under the pretexts of “human rights” and “democracy”. They are they same hypocrites who denounce the state hijacking in Belarus but “forget” the hijackings of the EU and U.S, such as the one in 2017 when the airplane carrying Bolivian President Evo Morales was forced to land in Austria.
The Greek-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity of Thessaloniki expresses its support and solidarity to the people and the government Cuba and condemns, in the most clear and firm way, the despicable machinations of the European Parliament. The efforts of the imperialists and their praetorians against Cuba shall fail!
