SRI LANKA PRESS HIGHLIGHTS CUBAN CULTURE DAY

Sri Lanka, October 20, 2021, Today October 20, Cuban Culture Day, the Colombo newspaper “Daily News” reports on the celebration of the Cuban Culture Day with an article written by Henry Warnakulasuriya, writer and film critic.

It explains that the Day of Cuban Culture was named by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro on October 20, 2004, for having interpreted that day in Bayamo, for the first time, the immortal notes of the current National Anthem of Cuba, composed by the patriot Pedro (Perucho) Figueredo.

The article includes photos of the National Hero of Cuba José Martí, the poet Cintio Vitier and the National Library Jose Marti (BNJM), as well as the logo of the activities of the Day that began on October 10.

Also includes a photo of a famous painting by the Cuban painter Servando Cabrera Moreno.
