He denounced the limitations and shortcomings imposed in a shameful way with the intensification of the blockade and its effects in the confrontation with the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Despite this, Cuba has managed to create three vaccines against Covid-19 and two vaccine candidates. Neither the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States and the current pandemic have prevented the Cuban people from continuing to dream and work with passion and optimism as he always has, “he emphasized.

For his part, the vice president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Víctor GauteLópez, thanked the friendly associations of Southeast Asia for their moral support and the commitment to always accompany the Cuban people in the fight for justice and the truth on the international stage.

Gaute pointed out that two key words have been engraved in the minds of the Cuban people under the pressure of the current difficult economic conditions and the pandemic: resist and win.

He also said that Cuba continues to build an increasingly just, inclusive and prosperous society project despite the numerous limitations and imperial harassment and that the best example of this is the Cuban vaccines against Covid-19, “an achievement of our scientists, the work and the fruit of the Cuban Revolution, which today allows Cuba to make a great difference.”

In the same way, the head of the Department of International Relations of the Union of Young Communists (UJC), Suniel Sosa Cordero, asserted that for young Cubans the difficulties of these times have been an incentive to increase creativity, resistance capacity and confidence in the Revolution.

He listed several examples that show how Cuban youth have been during these 18 months in the front line of combat against the pandemic, in neighborhoods, communities, isolation centers, hospitals and in production.

Sosa Cordero urged to continue developing relationships with youth organizations in Southeast Asia, for the benefit of mutual learning, cooperation and the preservation of historical memory, showing that geographical and cultural distance will never be an obstacle to the development of fraternal relationships between like-minded countries on the basis of unity and solidarity that are sorely needed in these times.

During the meeting, the attendees from the Asian region ratified their admiration and commitment to the Cuban Revolution, its leaders and its history, rejected the criminal blockade imposed by the US on Cuba and recognized the country’s efforts in confronting the pandemic. , as well as the international cooperation provided by the Henry Reeve brigades to other nations of the world.
