South Africa in Caravan against the blockade of Cuba

Pretoria, June 20, 2021.- The political organizations of the South African government alliance made up of the African National Congress, the South African Communist Party and the Confederation of South African Trade Unions organized today in Pretoria a motorcade to demand the end of the United States blockade against Cuba, on the eve of the vote of the Cuban resolution against the blockade at the United Nations on June 23.

Participants displayed outfits with messages of solidarity with Cuba and decked out their cars with colorful posters and flags. As the culmination of the tour, a document rejecting the blockade was made public in front of the United States Embassy in South Africa, which once again confirmed the solidarity and friendship between the Cuban and South African peoples.

At the beginning of the activities, an emotional act was held where those present expressed their rejection of the criminal policy.

Representatives of the Friends of Cuba Society (FOCUS), the Cuban Alumni Association of South Africa (CAASA) and the Association of Cuban Residents in South Africa (ACRSA), among other influential South African unions and organizations, also participated in the activities.
