Rejection of the interventionist declarations against Cuba by the Undersecretary of State

Statements by the Deputy Director General of the United States of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The General Directorate of the United States of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected the pronouncements of Ms. Julie Chung, Acting Assistant under- Secretary for the Western Hemisphere of the United States Department of State, whose content “openly demagogic and interference”, according to the Deputy Director General Johana Tablada, “constitutes a simulation of concern for human rights, while hiding the true purposes of the US government.”
The diplomat added that “the real objective of this type of declaration is to divert attention from the serious violation of human rights committed by that government against the entire Cuban population, with the insensitive and criminal application of the greatest economic, financial and commercial siege of the history ”, a policy that is increasingly questioned in the United States itself and in the world.
The MINREX official observed that the State Department “is not concerned with the people of Cuba and is not even concerned with those Cuban citizens who are systematically financed, oriented and promoted with high visibility to fabricate illegal actions of destabilization and generate a false image of Cuba, pretexts with which it tries to justify its criminal policy of economic blockade ”.
Tablada emphasized that “the United States does not have the moral authority to speak to Cuba about human rights when it has not even been able to prevent that, in the last year alone, more than 900 fatal incidents and deaths at the hands of the forces of the United States have been registered in the United States. police”. “None of that happens in Cuba,” the diplomat pointed out, and she added that in Cuba does not occur the crimes that happen in plain sight in countries whose governments the United States supports with weapons and financing.
The Deputy Director General recalled that “the United States Congress approves each year about 50 million dollars in the federal budget to be used to interfere in the internal affairs of Cuba, to subvert and conspire against the constitutional order of our country.” She pointed out that the US government does not accept the interference of another government in its internal affairs “and must understand that Cuba does not accept it either.” That money is also used, the official warned, “to deploy an intense campaign of disinformation and propaganda aimed at discrediting Cuba.”
