New Cuban Ambassador presents Credentials to the Governor General of Jamaica

Kingston, Jamaica, 24 January 2022. In an official ceremony at King’s House, the Governor General of Jamaica, His Excellency the Most Honourable Sir Patrick Allen, received from Ambassador Fermín Gabriel Quiñones Sánchez the Credentials accrediting him as Ambassador of Cuba in this Caribbean island.

During the smooth, cordial meeting, the parties shared opinions on the deep historical and cultural bonds that unite both nations, and the appreciable value of the cooperation provided by Cuba to Jamaica in the health and education sectors, particularly in recent years during the country’s fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Cuban Ambassador thanked the permanent support of Jamaica to the people of Cuba in its fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States, and reiterated the willingness of the Cuban government to expand and diversify bilateral cooperation.
