Monrovia, May 24, 2021 – The printed edition of the “Daily Observer” newspaper, one of the most widely read, important and oldest in the West African country, published an interview with Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. MartÃnez Herrera on the occasion of the celebration of “Africa Day” on May 25.
The Liberian daily newspaper reproduced the words of the Cuban diplomat when referring to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, as the main promoter and defender of the links between Cuba and Africa.
The journalistic note reflects that Cuba is grateful for and recognizes the permanent expressions of solidarity received from the African brothers, the unanimous support of the governments, leaders and peoples of Africa to the struggle against the US blockade imposed on Cuba, including the vote in favor of the elimination of that policy within the African Union and the General Assembly of the United Nations.
The article is considered a congratulatory message from Cuba to all Africans.
