Lebanese People’s Democratic Party expresses solidarity with Cuba and congratulates the election of Miguel Diaz-Canel as First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba

Beirut, May 17, 2021. The Secretary General of the Political Bureau of the People’s Democratic Party of Lebanon (PDPL), Mohamed Hachicho, hailed the successful holding of the 8th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, especially in light of the international struggle to establish a new multipolar world order, after the collapse of the U.S. system of unipolar hegemony.

“We have full confidence in his attachment to the revolution, its values and his commitment to his people, for the continuity and advancement of the process of building Cuban humanist socialism,” the message said.

Likewise, Hachicho hailed the successful holding of the VIII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, especially in light of the international struggle to establish a new multipolar world order, after the collapse of the U.S. system of unipolar hegemony.

At this time, pointed out the secretary general of the PDPL, imperialism, and in particular U.S. imperialism, is hardening its fascist and aggressive posture as a reaction to the decline of its hegemony and the failure of its projects to overthrow and attack the socialist, progressive and nationalist regimes that reject Western hegemony, from Latin America to our Arab region and the Middle East.

He pointed out that Cuba’s firmness has been legendary in the face of the criminal blockade and terrorist and subversive actions that have proved unsuccessful thanks to the attachment of the great Cuban people to its national sovereignty, its independence and its political decision to protect the Revolution and its sublime achievements, values and goals, a people that clings to its socialist system considered a pioneering revolutionary model in the field of thought, humanist action and internationalist solidarity.

On the occasion of its Eighth CPC Congress, the message of the PDPL evoked the memory of the great internationalist revolutionary leaders, such as Che Guevara, who became a universal revolutionary school of struggle, dedication and sacrifice to save humanity from the ferocity of capital.

He also recalled the memory of the eternal leader Comandante Fidel Castro Ruz, who instituted the revolutionary process and transformed it, together with his Communist Party, turning it into a successful humanist socialist experiment.

Likewise, the PDPL sent a greeting to comrade General Raúl Castro Ruz, who has been faithful to the achievements and management, guardian of the principles of the Revolution and the legacy of its symbols, handing over the banner of struggle to the new generation that has been formed within the Revolution and its leaders, thus guaranteeing the perpetuity of the Revolution and its continuity.

The missive pointed out that after the collapse of the socialist camp, Cuba has become a revolutionary model example for the peoples of the world and its militants and a palpable sample of the capacity of the revolutionary forces to frustrate the objectives of imperialist domination and to make the dreams of the empire fail.

He also underlined the impact of the Cuban Revolution on the causes in the Arab world and on the national liberation forces in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iran.

The message emphasized that the main lesson assimilated after the victory of the island of freedom is that imperialism, submission to it and submission to its will, is not a destiny in the life of the peoples and that its defeat is possible.

In this sense, the PDPL reaffirmed the importance and the necessity of mutual solidarity and cooperation between our peoples and our revolutionary, progressive forces and our liberation movements in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Finally, the message expresses the desire to strengthen the bonds of struggle between the PCC and the PDPL, to raise the level of coordination and political and cultural cooperation, as well as to work together in order to exchange experiences for the benefit of our peoples in the struggle for national and social liberation and the elimination of all forms of exploitation, occupation, terrorism and imperialist wars, in the struggle for a better future for our peoples and the peoples of the world with socialism and international solidarity.
