Monrovia, March 22, 2022 – At the invitation of the Embassy of Ireland in the Republic of Liberia, the Cuban mission in the African country, headed by the Chief of Mission Mercedes L. MartÃnez Herrera, participated in the celebration of the National Day of that country in northwestern Europe.
Ireland’s National Day, which commemorates the founding of the Republic, coincides with the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, a holiday commemorating the death of St. Patrick of Ireland, patron saint of Ireland. For the Irish it is the biggest celebration of the year because it is considered the day of the homeland, unity and national pride with a strong religious meaning.
