Monrovia, March 9, 2022 – Invited as a member of the diplomatic corps accredited in Liberia, the Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera participated in the kick-off workshop of the project on “The Delivery of Peace Dividends in Liberia: Consolidating national, regional and local reconciliation and opportunities for social cohesion”.
The project aims to support and operationalize reconciliation processes, policies and plans in Liberia by bringing together reconciliation and social cohesion initiatives and actors at national, regional and local levels in six key counties in Liberia.
At the local level, the project will work with local and regional civil society and local authorities to operationalize practical reconciliation and social cohesion initiatives, helping to implement county reconciliation plans and providing tangible peace dividends to marginalized communities at risk of imploding tensions due to frustrations with their level of development and inclusion.
Workshop participants included senior government officials, members of the diplomatic community, government, select civil society organizations and project implementing partners.
