The Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) condemns the Trump administration’s decision to designate Cuba as a ‘State sponsor of terrorism’. It demands the Biden administration to immediately reverse this categorisation, which is far from truth. On the contrary, Cuba, in these times of pandemic was actively engaged in saving human lives by sending its medical personnel to far off lands. Cuba is lauded by the people all over the world for its yeoman services in providing humanitarian assistance.
The CPI(M) in its central committee meeting held on 30, 31 January 2021, had adopted the following in its Report on the Current Political Developments:
“US Sanctions on Cuba
The Trump administration in one of its last actions, once again, designated Cuba as a
`State sponsor of terrorism’. This is an aggression against the people and government of Cuba which is accompanied by sanctions against Cuba”.
The Central Committee of the CPI(M) demanded the immediate removal of this designation of Cuba as a ‘State sponsor of terrorism’.
