During his visit to Brussels, His Excellency Ambassador Albert SHINGIRO, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation met Mr. Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti, the new Secretary General of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OEACP). Their discussions focused on various subjects including the post-Cotonou Agreement, recently initialed by the chief negotiators of the OEACP and the European Union, the revised Georgetown Agreement, the reform of the Organization of ACP States, as well as the lifting of sanctions taken by the EU against Burundi.
The Secretary General of OEACP reassured Burundi of its firm and constant support for the legitimate request of the Burundian authorities to lift the sanctions imposed on Burundi.
