That talented Burundian engineer is also known for his commitment to the educational robot activities by encouraging the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education in Burundi, Rwanda and the United States, especially among the young children.
Note that the cooperation between Burundi and the United States of America was greatly strengthened with the establishment of the USAID Office (American Agency for International Development) in 1979 through which a certain number of projects and programs have been executed in several sectors such as agriculture; health; training and capacity building through the human resources development; the promotion of the entrepreneurship and the support for the private sector as well as a support for the economic reforms.
On February 17, 2024, Burundian engineer Eric BIRIBUZE received the award of “Black Engineer of the Year in community service” in 2024. He was rewarded for his dedication and exceptional contributions in the fields of science, engineering and mathematics in the United States.
Taking into account an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement signed on December 12, 2007, Burundi and the United States of America have combined many efforts in improving the investment climate; increasing economic opportunities for the Burundians; the development of the Burundi’s capacities for the expansion of trade and investment, the improvement of the financial services, agriculture, the competitiveness of the private sector as well as the rational management of the environment. The two countries would like to strengthen the relations of friendship and cooperation for the well-being of the two respective inhabitants.
Present at the award ceremonies were the Ambassador of Burundi to the United States, His Excellency Jean Bosco Barege, the Burundian compatriots and the American people.
