Nigeria’s new Ambassador to Burundi presents figurative copies of his Credentials

Bujumbura, May 20, 2021

This Thursday, May 20, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation His Excellency Ambassador Albert SHINGIRO received in audience His Excellency Mr. Elijah Onyeagba, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Burundi. He came to present the figurative copies of his credentials accrediting him as Ambassador.

After wishing him a warm welcome, the Minister informed him that he was the key person to ensure the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between our two countries. This cooperation focuses mainly on business.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation said that in his vision to revitalize economic diplomacy, he would like, in the context of strengthening the field of foreign investments, to develop the exchange of technologies, trade, and the development of tourism. And invite Nigerians to invest in these areas.

The Nigerian Ambassador said he was delighted with the welcome he received. He also said he would do his utmost to revitalize bilateral cooperation in the economic field.

Note that this Ambassador is expected at the Ntare Rushatsi Palace, for the presentation of his Letters of Credence, this May 21, 2021
