The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Zaritsa Dinkova participates in an anniversary postage stamp validation ceremony on the occasion of 90 years of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Argentina. The solemn event was also attended by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov, the Director of Bulgarian Posts Deyan Daneshki and the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic in Sofia Alfredo Atanasoff.
In her welcoming speech, Deputy Minister Dinkova headlined the long traditions in the relations between the two countries, as well as the readiness of the Bulgarian party to continue to develop active cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. She pointed out that Argentina is the first country in Latin America with which Bulgaria established diplomatic relations and in which the largest Bulgarian community in the region lives today.
“This significant act symbolizes the closeness, friendship and partnership between our two countries dating back to 1931”, said Zaritsa Dinkova and added that geographical distances between us cannot be an obstacle to the development and strengthening of bilateral relations.
“I believe that through this edition we once again send a message that corresponds to the sustainable development of diplomatic relations and active cooperation between our two countries, especially in the fields of culture and economy,” said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov.
The ambassador of Argentina to Bulgaria Alfredo Atanasoff described the event as an opportunity to deepen the connections and friendly relations between the two peoples. “We are witnessing the construction of new bridges between Bulgaria and Argentina – those of communications, and why not nature either,” he stressed.
The theme of the philatelic edition is “National Flower”. The oil-bearing rose as a symbol of Bulgaria and the national flower of Argentina – the ceibo – are rendered on the postage stamps and symbolize the efforts of both countries to work for the prosperity of the relations between us.
