Minister Svetlan Stoev received the Ambassador of Mongolia Dashjamts Batsaykhan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Svetlan Stoev received the Ambassador of Mongolia Dashjamts Batsaykhan in connection with the end of his term, and the two reviewed bilateral relations and contacts.

Minister Svetlan Stoev highlighted the need to develop trade and economic potential and deepen political dialogue and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Mongolia is an important partner and traditional friend of Bulgaria in Asia. In 2020, the two countries marked 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations. More than 450 Mongolian students received their education at Bulgarian universities, and over 3,000 Mongolian citizens have specialized in Bulgaria. The trade turnover for 2020 amounts to 2.3 million dollars and consists almost entirely of Bulgarian exports.

“There are also many untapped opportunities in trade and economic exchange”, Minister Stoev said. According to him, more information in both countries about business opportunities would encourage investment interest.

Minister Stoev stressed the personal role of Ambassador Batsaykhan in the development of bilateral relations. He is fluent in Bulgarian and has known our country since the beginning of his career.

Ambassador Batsayhan expressed his great gratitude for the cooperation with the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and stated that after returning to his homeland he will continue to work for the development of relations with Bulgaria.
