The Consulate General of Bulgaria within New York continues and fortifies its assistance with the initiative Bulgarian Concert Evenings in Brand new York , which began almost 17 years ago and organized a number of events:
- A concert by the award-winning pianist Nadejda Vlaeva , who was declared “A Musician from the Year” for 2021 via a survey of the Bulgarian Nationwide Radio “Alegro Vivace” system for classical music (December 7, 2022).
- A concert at the Bulgarian Consulate General featuring famous Bulgarian and foreign musicians – Ms. Lora Chekoratova, piano (the first Bulgarian holding a PHD education from the prestigious performing arts Juilliard School); Mr. Georgy Valtchev, violin; Mr. Zlatomir Fung, cello, and Mr. Kenji Bunch, a writer and performer, viola (November 17, 2022).
- An evening in remembrance of the flutist Ms . Ginka Ortega in the Bulgarian Consulate General, showcasing world renowned representatives of the Bulgarian musical community in the US, incl. Ms. Pavlina Dokovska, Seat of the Piano Department in the prestigious Mannes School associated with Music in New York City, and Ms. Stefka Evstatieva, ie singer (October 25, 2022).
- The Consul General welcomed the target audience at the Opening Night Gala of Bulgarian Concert Nights in New York at Carnegie Hall (October 24, 2022).
4 concerts of Bulgarian Concert Evenings in New York have already been planned to be held within the first half of next year in the Bulgarian Consulate General (January 18, February 28, 03 22 and June 7, 2023), as well as a special concert at the Center for Judaism History in Manhattan to mark the 80 th anniversary of the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews (March 30, 2023). The Consul General is a guest at the Closing Night Gala of Bulgarian Concert Evenings at Carnegie Corridor marking the end of the season.
