The Minister of Foreign Affairs participates in Friendship Forum


The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, participated in the activities of the Friendship Forum, held today under the patronage of the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and in the Presence the Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias in Athens, Republic of Greece.

The forum was opened virtually by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sameh Shukry, Minister of State for International Cooperation in the United Arab Emirates, Reem Al-Hashemi, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the French Republic , Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and official delegations from the participating countries.


The Prime Minister of the Republic of Greece delivered an opening speech at the Friendship Forum in which he welcomed their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers participating in the Forum, thanking them for answering the invitation.

He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation relations between the friendly countries in a way that would benefit everyone and meet common aspirations and goals.


The Greek Prime Minister praised the close historical relations between the countries participating in the forum, noting that these countries believe in peace and understand the principles of good neighborliness and international laws.

He said joint cooperation will lay strong foundations and ambitious positive goals to enhance rapprochement between peoples, stressing that Diplomacy should be used to advance many common goals.

During the forum, their Highnesses and Excellencies, the foreign ministers of the participating countries discussed friendship and cooperation relations in various fields, and ways to raise them to wider levels in a way that promotes common interests and aspirations for the benefit of the participating states and their peoples.

The latest developments and regional issues of common interest were discussed in light of the challenges in the region as well as ways to enhance cooperation to face the repercussions of the post-pandemic Coronavirus (Covid 19) that the world is witnessing were also discussed.
