The Minister of Foreign Affairs participates in a press conference on the sidelines of the Friendship Forum
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, participated in the press conference, held today in the presence of their Highnesses and Excellencies the Foreign Ministers participating in the Friendship Forum organized by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens.
During the conference, their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers expressed their thanks and appreciation to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Greece Nikos Dendias, for organizing this important forum, stressing their keenness to enhance joint cooperation in all areas to strengthen the bonds of relations between the participating countries and meet common interests.
For his part, Dr. Zayani expressed his happiness to have participated in the forum, which brings together important countries in the region that have an extended history of joint cooperation and sincere desire to enhance efforts and benevolent endeavors to strengthen joint cooperation for the good of their peoples.
He said that this fraternal meeting provided a good opportunity to exchange views and discuss a number of important regional issues, in particular regional security and stability and ways to intensify cooperation and coordination to achieve peace and prosperity for the benefit of the peoples of the region in light of the challenges and difficulties.
He added that their Highnesses and Excellencies studied areas of joint cooperation in the post-response to the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in the field of energy, innovation, digital economy, civil protection and other areas, expressing his confidence that the understandings reached in this regard will lead to good results and achieve the common goals of these friendly countries.
The Foreign Minister noted that the issues discussed focused on political and security developments and their impact on the security and stability of the region, the relations of friendship and joint cooperation between the participating countries, and their desire to strengthen and develop them in various fields.
This, he said, was for common interests, in a way that contributes to maintaining security, stability and prosperity in this vital region and meet the aspirations of the peoples for a decent and secure life as well as a better future.
