Meeting of Joint Committee of Senior Officials at foreign ministries of GCC and Kingdom of Morocco
The meeting of the joint committee of senior officials in the ministries of foreign affairs of the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and the Kingdom of Morocco was held on Monday, January 25, 2021, virtually. The GCC side was under the chairmanship of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Regional & GCC Affairs, Ambassador Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, whereas the Moroccan side was under the chairmanship of the Director of the Mashreq, Gulf, Arab and Islamic Organizations in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Morocco, Ambassador Fouad Akhrif.
Ambassador Wahid Mubarak Sayyar praised the distinguished brotherly relations between the GCC and the Kingdom of Morocco, under the patronage of their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of brotherly countries. He also stressed the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between the GCC and the Kingdom of Morocco in all vital areas, as well as coordinating positions in the face of challenges and threats facing the region, and exchanging views on regional and international issues of common interest, underlining the support of the GCC for the Kingdom of Morocco in all the measures and initiatives it takes to preserve its security, stability, unity and territorial sovereignty and achieve growth and prosperity for the brotherly Moroccan people.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and coordinated positions on regional and international issues of common interest, discussed the joint workflow and the work of joint work teams. The two sides also set a timetable and a mechanism to implement what is agreed upon during the joint action plan.
