Australian embassy opens in Switzerland’s Bern

The new Australian embassy in Bern, Switzerland, on December 9 was formally opened by the Australian government, 2022.

Australia’s relationship with Switzerland has reached a significant turning point with the Minister for Trade and Tourism, Don Farrell, who opened the Embassy also. This shows how crucial it is for us to strengthen our ties to the Swiss persons and government.

With a total stock of Swiss investments in Australia valued at more than$ 69 billion in 2021, Switzerland ranked as Australia’s 11th-largest source of investment. It was the country with the most significant two-way trading partner also.

Australia has an ambassador in Bern now, an austrade office in Zurich, and a permanent mission and general consulate in Geneva.
