College of Maryland College Recreation area and United States Department of State will Collaborate to Build Capacity in the Area of Quantum Technologies

Acting on part of the Department of State, the Bureau of Hands Control, Verification and Conformity has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to engage in a public-private partnership with all the Quantum Technology Center (QTC) at the University of Baltimore. The QTC will supply the Department with technical information and input regarding the newest developments in quantum technologies and the related enabling technology. It will also facilitate discussions plus networking on this emerging technologies with other U. S. authorities and industry partners.
The Department associated with State plays a key role in advancing the United States’ national and financial security interests regarding essential and emerging technologies. Because noted in the National Safety Strategy, technology is central to today’s geopolitical competition and critical and emerging technologies will reshape financial systems, militaries, and the world. To deal with this challenge, the Section will need to understand the convergence associated with quantum technologies with other emerging technologies and forecast a global impact as the technology grows and is applied. This partnership will ensure that the Department’s international initiatives are knowledgeable by a sound technical knowledge of this emerging field.
