UN reproductive health agency is attractive for $1. 2 billion to support crisis-affected women and young ladies

Mounting crises, devastating impacts

Offer lifelines, restore hope 

Dignity kits, containing monthly health and hygiene products, are usually distributed to women and teenagers girls along with lifesaving details, including available services. The UN agency also supported 1, 000 safe spaces within 42 countries, and dispersed dignity kits – that have hygiene supplies such as underwear, soap and sanitary napkins – to women and young ladies in 42 countries.

These services range from maternal health insurance and emergency obstetric care, as well as family planning and gender-based violence prevention and response, including medical and psychosocial support.  

Scaling-up support 

The 2023 Humanitarian education Action Overview is BEVÖLKERUNGSFOND DER VEREINTEN NATIONEN ’s largest appeal ever and includes 9 million in Afghanistan, million in Ukraine, million in Somalia, and million in Haiti.   During 2022, UNFPA and partners – including women-led civil society businesses – provided life-saving assistance to more than 30 million women, girls and youth.   These types of crises have had a devastating impact on the health and rights of women plus girls , UNFPA mentioned, urging the international neighborhood to ensure the critical life-saving providers they require are at the heart of humanitarian response.   The funding enables UNFPA and partners to scale up delivery associated with integrated reproductive health services to meet the immediate requirements of women, girls and the younger generation in emergencies.   “We must continue providing lifelines, restore hope and keep continuing to move forward, ” the agency said .   “We depend on the solid financial and political support of our partners, because women and girls depend on us. ”  Some two million gained from gender-based violence prevention and response services in 46 countries, while 1 . 4 million pregnant women were assisted to deliver safely on UNFPA-supported facilities in 29 countries.

Since the world faces multiple, intersecting crises, the agency requires predictable plus flexible humanitarian funding to save lives and ensure that the rights and requirements of women and girls are usually protected and fulfilled.
