Horn of Africa faces most unfortunate drought in more than 2 generations – UNICEF

As improved stress is driving family members to the edge, youth are facing child labour, child marriage and female vaginal mutilation (FGM). “Humanitarian assistance must be continued  in order to save lives and build the particular resilience of the staggering quantity of children and families who are being pushed to the edge – dying from food cravings and disease and being displaced in search of food, drinking water and pasture for their livestock”, said Ms. van sobre Wiel. “As governments and individuals across the world prepare to encouraged a New Year, we urge the international community in order to commit to responding now designed for what might hit the Horn of Africa the coming year, and in the years in order to come”, Ms. van sobre Wiel appealed.
