Coronavirus

Antigua and Barbuda’s state education system is generally below that of the UK and assets can be poor. Private educational institutions are of a higher standard. For information on the school system in Antigua and Barbuda, please visit the Antigua Ministry of Education website. Residents and website visitors are required to hold a valid Cayman islands land and Barbuda licence.

Health

You may be thinking about paying voluntary contributions to top up your monthly pension entitlement. For further information on spending voluntary contributions in the UK, contact HM Revenues & Traditions. Temporary driving licences that are valid for three months can be purchased via hire car companies, the particular Transport Board, or the nearby police. They may be renewed in a police station or the Transportation Board.

Schooling

The primary hospital, the Mount Saint John Medical Centre, is not really free to non-nationals. It is able to cope with many types of treatment, but severe cases will mean emergency healthcare evacuation, usually to the UNITED STATES. There are also a number of private hospitals and clinics. Make sure you have sufficient health insurance and accessible money to cover the cost of any medical treatment abroad and repatriation.
