Barbados’ Ambassador To Geneva Satisfies WHO Director General

The WHO ELSE Head also reflected at the official visit of the Perfect Minister to WHO Headquarters in March.   It was on that occasion that Prime Minister Mottley provided, as a donation, artwork to be displayed in the newly restored building.   Long term Representative of Barbados to the United Nations Office and other International Companies in Geneva, Matthew Wilson paid a courtesy call today on the Director-General from the World Health Organization (WHO),   Dr . Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, at WHO Head office in Geneva, Switzerland. (Photo credit: Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade) Author: Government of Barbados Some of the items discussed included the bases of financing of the WHO; the particular ongoing work of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body to set up and negotiate a WHICH convention, agreement or some other international instrument on pandemic prevention, preparedness and reaction; multilateral initiatives to promote collaboration, particularly among developing countries, like the proposed actions on Pharmaceutical Equity for Global Public Health, spearheaded by Barbados, Guyana plus Rwanda; and response to problems such as non-communicable diseases.
