Following his fruitful contacts in Kuwait and Oman, on 11 February 2021, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Qatar, the last stop of his Gulf Tour, to discuss the relations between our countries and the issues on our common agenda.
During his program in Doha, Minister Çavuşoğlu was first received by Amir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani of Qatar.
Minister Çavuşoğlu conveyed him the greetings of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and pointed out that Qatar had emerged stronger from the Gulf dispute and congratulated him on his leadership during this process.
Later that day, Minister Çavuşoğlu met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar.
Following the meeting, the two Ministers held a joint press conference.
Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that we were pleased with the progress towards the resolution of the Gulf dispute, that we supported the agreement reached, and that our relations with Qatar would further strengthen in the new period that had begun in the Gulf.
