Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu visited Italy on 2 October 2020 upon invitation of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Luigi Di Maio of Italy to discuss the preparations of the Third Turkey-Italy Intergovernmental Summit.
Minister Çavuşoğlu met with his Italian counterpart in Rome.
Following the meeting, the two Ministers held a joint press conference.
Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that the Joint Economic and Commercial Committee (JETCO) and the Business Forum would be convened in the up-coming period, and that we were targetting 30 billion US Dollars for our trade volume, currently at 19 billion US Dollars.
Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that regional developments including Libya, the Eastern Mediterranean, migration and occupied Azerbaijani territories were also discussed at the meeting.
