The Fifth Trilateral Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan was held in Ankara on 23 February 2021 with the participation of Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov of Azerbaijan and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov of Turkmenistan.
During the meetings, the relations between our countries, regional issues as well as the steps to further enhance our cooperation were discussed in bilateral and trilateral formats.
Minister Çavuşoğlu first met with Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov of Turkmenistan and expressed that he was glad to host him in Turkey, his second homeland.
After the meeting, both Ministers held a joint press conference.
Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that the 2021-2022 Cooperation Program between our Ministries was signed and the preparations for the visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Turkmenistan this year were discussed.
Then, Minister Çavuşoğlu and his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov had a bilateral meeting and discussed our cooperation opportunities as well as the latest developments in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that our support would continue for the reconstruction and development of the liberated lands of Azerbaijan and that the citizens of both countries would be able to travel with their national identity documents soon.
At the end of the day, the Fifth Trilateral Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan took place and a joint press conference was held by the three Ministers following the meeting.
Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized that our relations had become a comprehensive partnership today, that our tripartite partnership contributed to the stability of the region and that the cooperation between our countries would continue to further in all areas, in particular transportation and energy.
