Trinidad and Tobago and Panama Seek to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Senator the Honourable Dennis Moses, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs welcomed His Excellency Luis Alberto Cigarruista Vargas, newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago during a Courtesy Call on 10th July, 2018 at the Ministry’s headquarters. The Courtesy Call on Minister Moses preceded Ambassador Cigarruista’ s presentation of his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

During the meeting, discussions focussed on strengthening the bilateral relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and Panama. In this regard, Ambassador Cigarruista referred to the foreign policy initiatives of Her Excellency Isabel de Saint Malo García de Alvarado, current Vice President and Foreign Affairs Minister of Panama, noting Panama’s dedication to pursuing enhanced cooperation and engagement with Trinidad and Tobago. His Excellency further acknowledged the positive status of Trinidad and Tobago and Panama bilateral ties and expressed the commitment of Panama to broadening the scope for areas of collaboration. Recognising the importance of the relationship between Trinidad and Tobago – Panama, Minister Moses reassured Ambassador Cigarruista of Trinidad and Tobago’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Panama.

The meeting ended cordially with both parties committed to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
