Prime Minister Stefan Löfven to participate in WHO’s independent pandemic panel on 4 May

On Tuesday, 4 May, Prime Minister Stefan Löfven will participate in a round-table discussion with the Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response (IPPPR), which was established by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The IPPPR has invited a number of heads of state and government to provide some insight into its upcoming final report into how the WHO has coordinated global efforts during the pandemic and how the international system for health security can be improved in order to stand better prepared for future crises.

The discussion will be led by Helen Clark and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in their roles as co-chairs of the IPPPR. In addition to Mr Löfven, heads of state and government from New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Ethiopia, Rwanda and Ghana will also participate.

The WHO’s final report will be presented at the World Health Assembly (WHA) on 24 May–1 June 2021.
