The EU leaders will discuss continued coordination measures to address the COVID-19 pandemic, crisis preparedness and energy prices. The Strategic Compass for security and defence policy cooperation is also on the agenda.
Migration and developments at the Belarusian border will also be discussed. Other foreign affairs include the summit between the EU and the African Union in February and the current situation concerning Russia and Ukraine.
This will be the first time Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson has taken part in the European Council.
