PRESS RELEASE:THREE MORE TEST POSITIVE; RAISES TOTAL TO 30 (30 January, 2022)

(GOVT. PRESS SECRETARIAT); Samoa is now at Alert Level 2. As of this morning Sunday 30 January,
2022 the Ministry of Health advised that following the implementation of its regular test schedule for
all persons in quarantine three new positive cases have been identified from among the passengers
including a 4 year old child.

The total number of positive cases is 30 and all remain asymptomatic.

All frontline workers in quarantine other than the 5 nurses at the Isolation unit in Moto’otua Hospital
continue to return negative cases after their third round of testing.

Currently there is no evidence of a community transmission.
