Thanksgiving ceremony at the Respiratory Hospital

The Respiratory Hospital places great emphasis on giving thanks in the midst of the pandemic as it continues its 2nd anniversary celebration.

The Respiratory Hospital expressed profound gratitude to the business community for their support during the COVID-19 pandemic in a thanksgiving ceremony held recently.

Executive Director of the Respiratory Hospital Dr. Nancy Francis highly praised the support from the business community and people of Saint Lucia in assisting the hospital in combatting the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Even though the business community was impacted and many businesses were closed in 2021, many organisations reached out to us at the hospital to provide much needed support in areas such as linen, when we experienced shipping and supply chain logistics, refurbishing of our staff bases, meals for our hard-working team members and just a bouquet of flowers to say I am thinking about you.”

Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health Tessa Inglis expressed appreciation for the unwavering support provided to the Respiratory Hospital in such a difficult and trying time.

“We saw our corporate partners, our friendly governments donating to our cause to provide healthcare to the people of Saint Lucia. What you have done and continue to do is of great significance to us because it shows a measure of benevolence. It shows a measure of perseverance that we hope will be emulated now and in the future by our team members but also, we hope will be emulated by other well intentional organisations.”

Senior House Officer at the Respiratory Hospital Dr. Joyan Chicot said the pandemic has taught them all to be extremely grateful and that no matter how small the contribution, it can go a long way.

“Here at the Respiratory Hospital, we matter to each other in inexplicable ways that was shown through action being each other’s keeper. We are all interconnected: private, public, finance, infrastructure like a venn diagram. Being grateful for one means being grateful for all. With this I say a huge thank you to all the donors; thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for all your hard work, thank you for all your contributions.”

The Respiratory Hospital presented certificates of appreciation to the various organizations who assisted them in 2021 to serve the people of Saint Lucia.
