Public officers to participate in a Post-Traumatic Growth Emotional Health Webinar

The Covid-19 pandemic continues to contribute to psychological distress among many people globally. This stressful and challenging period demands that urgent attention be given to emotional and mental health. Recognizing that many of our public officers have been impacted by the pandemic, the Employee Assistance Programme  Unit (EAP) will be hosting a webinar captioned,  “Up Again – Post-Traumatic Growth” that will provide valuable information on how to navigate through the current turbulent health and economic crises.

The “Up Again – Post-Traumatic Growth” webinar will be held on November 24th, 2021 from 2p.m. via zoom and streamed live via the Government of Saint Lucia Facebook page, Youtube channel and the National Television Network. The webinar will be facilitated by Vincentian, Dr.  Jozelle Miller, Health Psychologist and Author of “Unstuck-Creating Your Bounce Back Effect”.

“We understand that life can throw some tough curveballs. Many have lost loved ones, received dismal diagnoses; some may be struggling financially, and many have experienced trauma in one way or the other. We are hoping that this webinar will provide a means of educating our public officers on the ways in which they can learn how to bounce back from trauma and other difficult situations. Many times when our core foundations are shattered, we become well positioned to explore new opportunities and growth can be realized”, said Acting EAP Manager, Mrs. Sacha Jn. Pierre-James.

The Employee Assistance Programme was launched within the Department of the Public Service in March 2016, as a work-based solution-oriented intervention program to assist employees in identifying challenges, and developing constructive action plans and strategies to deal with work and personal life. The EAP provides each public officer with up to six free counseling sessions facilitated by highly trained professionals. The EAP Unit can be contacted at 468 2269 or 468 2260/2856252.
