The Russian internet homepage “Polit Expert” has recently carried an article headlined “the U.S. provokes DPRK, which is aimed at Russia” contributed by Konstantin Sokolov, an expert in geopolitics and a candidate academician at the Russian Academy of Natural Science.
In this article, he ridiculed the American accusation of the DPRK, a small country, for threatening the big powers, referring to the insistence of the U.S. State Department that the DPRK’s missile launch is presenting a menace to the international society.
The Permanent Representative of the DPRK to UN in his statement delivered at the United Nations General Assembly stated that the DPRK will not at all infringe upon the safety of the U.S. and the neighboring countries.
All matters concerning the DPRK come down to the ambition of the U.S. for maintaining its military bases on the Korean peninsula.
For the West, the DPRK bordering on Russia and China is of great geopolitical implications.
Any missile test-fire conducted by the DPRK is for ensuring national security, thus posing no threat whatsoever to anyone. It is the DPRK, on the contrary, that is under the constant threat from the U.S.
American denunciation of the DPRK can be taken as “despicable provocation”, and an armed conflict on the Korean peninsula might be spiraled into a world war that nobody desires.
The article of Russian expert once again shows that the international society shares a correct understanding that the leading culprit threatening the peace and security on the Korean peninsula is undoubtedly the United States.
