Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), received a personal letter from Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
Nguyen Phu Trong extended deep gratitude to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for sending a verbal message to him to notify the accounts of the 8th Congress of the WPK and warmly congratulated the successful congress once again.
He said that the 8th Congress of the WPK held fast to the principle of “The People Are God”, attached great importance to building the Party for people and adopted the five-year plan for economic development toward the orientation of the sustained development of the country and the remarkable improvement of the people’s living. He expressed belief that the WPK will definitely put the DPRK on the road of socialist construction and achieve more new successes in the socio-economic development by successfully implementing the decisions made at the 8th Congress.
He notified in detail the accounts of the 13th Congress of the CPV which was held from January 25 to February 1.
Especially, he said that in the period under review the CPV displayed the might of the great national unity and advantages of socialist system, stabilized the people’s living, and deepened the trust of the people in the Party, state and socialist system. He added that the congress confirmed once again that the Party’s leadership is a determinant of successful development of the country toward the orientation of socialism.
Noting that the Vietnamese Party and people will consistently enforce the external policy of independence and sovereignty, friendship and peace, and cooperation and development, he expressed his will to make joint efforts for the interests of the peoples of Vietnam and the DPRK, the causes of socialist construction in the two countries and the contribution to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
He also manifested his expectation and conviction that the traditional friendship and cooperative relations between the two Parties and peoples would be carried forward and developed day by day.
He sincerely wished Comrade Kim Jong Un greater successes in the work of leading the WPK and the Korean people.
