A photo exhibition and seminar were held at the DPRK Embassy in Moscow on August 5 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of historic visit of Chairman Kim Jong Il to the Russian Federation and the 10th anniversary of his visit to the Siberian and Far Eastern regions.
Present there were the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the DPRK to Russia and Embassy members, and figures of the Russian government, political Parties, organizations and institutions including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Duma, the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia, the Orchestra of the 21st Century of Russia, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, the Association for the Study of Juche Idea and the Korean War Veterans’ Council.
The participants laid bouquets and paid a tribute to the art work at the embassy depicting President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il standing together.
Then they looked around the photo exhibition hall.
Displayed at the hall were photos dealing with the exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il and respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for strengthened and developed DPRK-Russia friendship.
Also on display were photos showing the development of the DPRK.
There was a seminar.
The Director of the First Asian Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the development of the bilateral relations in many fields conforms to the interests of the Russian and Korean peoples, praising the exploits performed by Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the development of the DPRK-Russia relations.
The Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation who is also the head of the Russia-DPRK Friendship Parliamentary Group of the State Duma of Russia said that the visit to the Russian Federation by Chairman Kim Jong Il, an outstanding politician, served as an important landmark in the modern political history of the two countries and as a significant occasion that laid a firm foundation for the establishment of the strategic partnership.
The Chairperson of the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia said that he is truly pleased to see that the revolutionary cause of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il is being successfully carried out by Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
The head of the Orchestra of the 21st Century of Russia stressed that he was impressed by the profound knowledge of all sectors including politics, economy and culture, possessed by Chairman Kim Jong Il, when he met him. He also expressed his willingness to strive for the cultural exchange between the two countries in the future.
