SDG #7 & SDG #13: WEnergy Global

Rising sea levels, changing weather patterns and severe droughts: the climate crisis is one of the greatest global challenges of our time.

The latest IPCC report, released on 9 August 2021, warns that without immediate, rapid and large-scale reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, we will not be able to limit global warming to even 2°C.

Energy is the dominant contributor to climate change, accounting for around 60 percent of total global greenhouse gas emissions.

Award-winning Dutch/EU/Singaporean company WEnergy Global made it its mission to bring Dutch knowledge, technology and capital to Southeast Asia to work towards renewable energy solutions, leading to improving social economic and productivity conditions for communities and businesses while also lowering emissions. This is all contributing towards SDG #7 and SDG #13.

In the Philippines, WEnergyGlobal has already helped to make sustainable energy a tangible reality in Palawan and is scaling up to provide access to clean electricity to over 10,000 households and small businesses in 2022.
